Rural Planner

Year on year we are seen to be one of the best places to live in the UK and Orkney’s historic
and natural environments are world renowned. This role provides a unique opportunity to live
and work in this beautiful location and work to sustain Orkney’s rural and remote communities.

The main element of this role is to support the statutory requirements of the Council in regard
to outdoor access, the protection of trees and woodland and assist in the creation of new areas
of woodland.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within
Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
