The Opportunity:

  • Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. will implement a three-year project entitled:  Casting a Wider Net: Systems Approach Against Child Abuse and Exploitation in the Philippines Project.
  • The project will be implemented in three (3) cities and three (3) Municipalities namely: Tacloban City, Catbalogan City, Zumarraga & Daram of West Samar, and, San Jose City and Magsaysay, in Occidental Mindoro.  The project will strengthen the protection, recovery, and reintegration efforts of duty-bearers in addressing children and young people (CAY) abuse and exploitation from human trafficking and early and forced marriages and unions.
  • In line with this project, we invite competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position. 
  • The Project Officer will lead the implementation in communities covered by the project. This will involve community mobilization, dissemination of information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, and capacity building for children and their families, community stakeholders, and partners. He/she will lead the coordination with partner local government units.

Further, as the Project Officer:

  • You will network with barangay/city/national agencies and service providers based in the project areas and maintain linkages with them.
  • You will lead the conduct of organizational diagnosis in the project areas to identify related training needs of partners/locally mandated bodies to make them functional.
  • You will facilitate the gathering of the baseline data on the structural, institutional, and community drivers in relation to Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA).
  • You will facilitate the review/preparation of IEC materials on CSEA and the distribution plan.
  • You will facilitate the capacity building of partners including children about the project on CSEA.
  • Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas. 

To be successful in the role you will need among other things:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Social and Behavioral Sciences, or other related courses.
  • Two years of experience in community organizing and development. Hands-on experience in participatory approaches with communities and children.
  • Training on basic research, community organizing/ community development; program/project management; children’s rights, child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA), and, child protection.
  • Good command of verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
  • Applicants must be based in the Philippines and Filipino nationals.
