About the Area
The Research Integrity Team, within the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Research (DVC-R) portfolio provides ongoing training and support for researchers across the whole University. They are committed to working with researchers to assist them to conduct their studies in accordance with the relevant legislation, codes, and guidelines as well as Building a culture of responsible research.
About the opportunity
As the Senior Research Integrity Officer, you will be responsible for providing high-level support for the operations of the Research Integrity Office and championing key initiatives to build a culture of responsible research practice, fostering research excellence across all areas of the university research community.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

work with a dynamic team, reporting to the Research Integrity Manager
-
provide high-level support for the operations of the research integrity office, managing research integrity complaints and allegations of research misconduct
-
provide strategic support and advice on research integrity issues
-
develop and maintain professional relationships with the university academic and professional community and with other key internal and external stakeholders
-
provide advice and guidance for researchers about responsible research practice
-
develop and implement management and reporting mechanisms for complaints that facilitate, measure, and monitor performance standards and enable process improvement
-
champion key initiatives to build a culture of responsible research practice.
About you
-
undergraduate degree or above in a relevant field and demonstrated medical, scientific and/or legal literacy skills
-
extensive experience with complaint management in a Higher Education or highly regulated setting
-
high level analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and proactively address complex issues
-
knowledge of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, related policies and an understanding of the regulatory environment governing research integrity, or the ability to acquire this knowledge rapidly
-
ability to exercise a high level of initiative, tact and discretion in detailing with confidential matters
-
strong ability to collaborate and to mentor and support less experienced staff
-
experience delivering effective communications to a variety of stakeholder groups, including the preparation of formal reports.
