About the opportunity

Providing telephone crisis support is both important and challenging work for our employees and volunteers and we believe creating a nurturing work environment is key to the team’s success.

As the Lead, you will ensure we continue to build a positive work culture, and that our employees and volunteers feel both supported and valued. You will also be responsible for coordinating Lifeline’s phone room operations including monitoring performance and ensuring targets are met and maximising the effectiveness of our systems and processes.

You will also focus on continuous improvements and developing and implementing best practise models and work closely with our Ballarat centre in creating efficiencies, sharing of knowledge and resources appropriately.

What’s on offer.

Our centre operates from 7am to 10pm, 7 days per week.  This role is 30.4 hours per week onsite in our Melbourne Centre located in Prahran. We are flexible with how you work your hours between Monday and Friday. You may need to adjust your work time occasionally to meet with employees outside business hours.

In addition to base salary (SCHADS Level 6) and superannuation, you’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and an ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits.

About you

You have a strong knowledge of how a telephone crisis service operates successfully and you are an experienced people leader and who knows how to support and guide a team to achieve high quality outcomes.

You will also bring with you:

  • Bachelor level degree in mental health, social work, psychology, social science or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous quality improvement, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to maintain concise records and prepare comprehensive reports and submissions.
  • Experience in working with others to facilitate change and deliver program outcomes.
