 (Ada) is a non-profit, tuition-free coding school.
Our mission is to prepare women and gender expansive adults to be
software developers while advocating for inclusive and equitable
work environments. We primarily serve and address the needs of
Black, Latine, Indigenous Americans, Native Hawaiian & Pacific
Islander, LGBTQIA+, and low-income people. Our tuition-free
training program includes a collaborative learning environment,
individualized support, and an applied learning internship.

About this position

We seek a Director of Corporate Giving & Philanthropy to
join our dynamic team responsible for fundraising in support of
Ada’s regional and national operations. As a leader within our
Development Team, you will be responsible for growing and
developing a major donor and workplace giving programs to raise
funds from major donors and employees of key corporate partners and
prospects, as well as engaging employees and corporations around
Ada’s mission. You will lead our corporate engagement initiatives
and oversee day-to-day management of our corporate partnerships.
You will play a key role in expanding the size and geographic base
of our major donors and corporate funders, including taking
leadership in building emergent regional relationships as we
expand. Ada’s plans to raise $2-3m (30% of total budget) from all
sources of philanthropy, primarily through this position. The
successful candidate will have relationship management experience,
an understanding of industry trends in corporate social
responsibility and workplace giving, major gifts, and a successful
fundraising track record.

This is a full-time position, with an annual salary range of
$120,000 – $140,000 (DOE) and excellent benefits. While Ada is
primarily operating remotely, this position requires 30-40% travel,
including in the greater Seattle area and out-of-state.

Core responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with the Interim CEO, philanthropy consultant, and
    other leaders to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising
    strategies aligned with organizational goals.

  • Strategize and oversee major donor programs, workplace
    engagement and corporate giving with corporations and
    organizations, cultivating donors through relationships and giving
    campaigns.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders on the
    identification and implementation of workplace giving, employee
    engagement, and corporate giving opportunities as part of our
    broader strategy for high-value corporate partnerships.

Relationship Management & Fundraising

  • Responsible for leading the growth, development, and successful
    execution of a comprehensive major gift program, building
    relationships and a pipeline of annual major donors.

  • Manage a portfolio of high-level donors through a moves
    management process that includes cultivation, solicitation and
    stewardship.

  • Responsible for leading the growth, development, and successful
    execution of corporate philanthropy, including workplace
    engagement, employee giving, and corporate donations and
    sponsorships through the cultivation of corporate partner
    relationships across sectors.

  • Develop and maintain strong external relationships within the
    corporate giving world to facilitate funding opportunities, retain
    and increase the number of corporate donors and sponsors.

  • Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate prospects and
    contributors to meet or exceed annual revenue goals, and maintain
    an excellent reputation in the community and relationships with
    donors.

Engagement & Representation

  • Represent Ada at employee engagement and workplace giving events
    as a presenter and facilitator, bringing Ada’s mission and work to
    life in compelling, tangible ways.

  • Work across the organization to secure and prepare Ada program
    and subject matter experts for relevant employee engagement events
    and presentations.

Other Duties

  • Other duties and special projects as needed.

Essential qualifications

  • Enthusiastic support of Ada’s mission and demonstrated
    embodiment of Ada’s values.

  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience, including major donor
    engagement, workplace & corporate engagement and fundraising in
    performance-based or mission-based environments.

  • Experience raising $750,000+/yr from workplace & corporate
    giving and  $1M+/yr from major gifts.

  • Demonstrated achievement in fundraising, including direct
    experience leading significant workplace giving campaigns,
    corporate sponsorships, and corporate giving.

  • Experience successfully collaborating with internal and external
    stakeholders to produce engagement opportunities and other
    strategic outcomes.

  • Strong project management, prioritization, and decision-making
    skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
