Oversees the daily operations of assigned staff within decision support.
- Provides effective leadership to team/ work group.
- Responsible for the customization, maintenance and management of the Medical Center and Clinic’s planning, reporting and cost accounting systems and support to UVA Community Health.
- Responsible for benchmarking and surveys for the Medical Center and Clinics and coordination of benchmarking and survey activities for UVA Health.
- Provides UVA Medical Center and clinic’s interface to the Medical Center’s/Health System’s accounting functions and supports close process, variance analysis and other Medical Center financial management needs.
- Interfaces with other Health System and Medical Center support services, services and service lines as required.
- Models effective communication and collaboration skills / behaviors

Supports innovation and organizational change to improve effectiveness. - Develops talent and coaches peers and others to develop their capabilities.
- Manages within approved budget.
Applies knowledge of functional area to effectively manage operations. - Holds staff accountable for meeting external and/or internal customer needs.
- Plans, organizes and leads project-based work.
Clearly communicates complex topics to all levels of personnel within the Health System. - Partners with planning and analysis professionals to lend expertise to the planning and execution of service line–level work
- Partners with medical center leadership to develop strategies and tactics for financial performance improvement.
- Assists in the skills and competency development of junior decision support team members.
- Willingly adapts to organizational change and models commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
- Develops and delivers professional presentations to all levels of leadership and organization governance.

Position Compensation Range: $93,142.40 – $149,032.00 Annual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 1 year’s progressively more responsible experience required. Healthcare financial management, accounting, cost accounting, StrataJazz; Anaplan, Peoplesoft preferred
Licensure: None required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
