The Role

To further accelerate our growth in the banking and payments market in the UK, the Strategic Business Development Manager in D&B is responsible for developing new opportunities within the banking and payments sector and position D&B as the strategic partner of choice. The Strategic Business Development Manager owns the commercial relationship and helps translate D&B’s strategic value to the client and they are responsible for playing a leading role in the D&B go-to-market plan for financial services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing, growing and diversifying revenue across Banking and Payments organisations – particularly fintechs and challenger banks
  • Ability to commercialise market propositions and to articulate the specific ROIs that the client derives from D&B’s data and analytics’ investments
  • Building strategic C level and/or C-Level -1 client relationships across the sector
  • Ability to perform as a trusted advisor with clients and prospects and manage their expectations to develop long-term relationships
  • Identify partners within the banking business with whom an alliance can be established to generate opportunities to enhance the business model
  • Help create a high performing culture and a collaborative environment within the team

Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial individual, with 8-10 years minimum of professional experience in banking and financial services sales, particularly in areas such as digital banking and the technologies and services ecosystems aligned to digitalisation. The success in this role heavily relies on the ability to work with banks and the banks’ technology partners to ensure that D&B is at the heart of the banks’ data and technology roadmap
  • A track record of successful selling complex solutions in fintechs, challenger banks and payments institutions, with previous experience demonstrating consistent individual over-achievement
  • Strong knowledge of the banking and technology market and a sound understanding of how technology and data are key enablers of banking transformation
  • Experience in digital transformation, cloud, AI, risk and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with SME Lending / Finance – though not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence executive board level
  • Ability to sell with direct and / or with partners and as part of market ecosystems
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders in a rapidly changing environment
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Active listener, with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • This role will be based in our London office
  • Ability to travel overseas when required
