Job Summary
With direction from the supervisor, Dr. Paul Hewitt, will perform routine research tasks. Assists with coordinating research studies, maintaining supplies, literature searches, and acquiring, scoring, and recording data.
Organizational Status
Works under the direction of the laboratory director. Interacts with student researchers and other members of the research team.
Work Performed
- Conduct Adult Attachment Interviews to adults in a large research project; meeting with participants on a one to one basis to administer the interview.
- Records responses and files the results for future statistical analyses.
- Adheres to guidelines concerning the confidentiality and security of recorded data.
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Interview is performed according to clear procedures and worker has been trained, will be monitored and supervised; however, some individual initiative and judgement is required. Errors will be addressed in supervision.
Supervision Received
Will be supervised by Dr. Paul Hewitt and a clinical psychology graduate student who has been received extensive training with the interview and has experience administering the interview. Tasks are assigned by Dr. Hewitt.
Supervision Given
Will be part of group that may provide guidance to others administering the interview.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and enrolled in a clinical psychology program. Experience in interviewing others.
Experience working in a clinical research setting with adults. Ability to connect with participants in an interview context, ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
