PURPOSE
The Communications Coordinator, under general supervision, coordinates, develops, and implements a comprehensive communications program to include marketing, media, and publications.
DESCRIPTION

Job Duties
- Research, interview, write, and edit Institute external content: press releases, publications, web content, and other projects as assigned
- Assure that print and web-based products conform to journalistic standards
- Write and edit Institute internal messaging as needed
- Field inquiries and coordinates media and general public requests regarding departmental activities and publications to include briefings, interviews, and events
- Create and upon approval post content for all Institute social media platforms
- Maintains proactive schedule of written products for yearly items, annual reports, newsletters, fellowship reports, etc.
- Monitor media presence and statistics
- Participate with departmental strategic marketing and communication plans
- Maintain communication with TAMU-CC Marcomm on scheduling and requests
- Assist with events as needed
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
-
Three (3) years of related experience
-
Additional education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements
-
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Strong organizational and time management skills
