About Us

Bats are remarkable and essential to our environment. The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) is the
foremost non-governmental organisation dedicated to bat conservation and habitat protection.
Our mission is to secure bats’ future in a changing world.

BCT actively works on a range of initiatives to create a better world for bats. We’re
passionate about preserving these unique creatures and are committed to welcoming like-minded
individuals who share our dedication.

The National Bat Monitoring Programme (NBMP) is the longest running multi-species monitoring
programme for mammals in the UK. It gives us, and government, the information needed to help
inform bat conservation by monitoring the UK’s bat population. Through surveys and observation,
we can discover how they are faring and the factors that are important for their survival.

We are now looking for a NBMP Volunteer Engagement Officer on a part-time basis for a six month
fixed-term contract, working 25 hours per week.

The Benefits

  • Salary of £23,764 per annum (pro rata)
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Eye Care Vouchers
  • Flex Time Policy
  • Cycle Scheme

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a good grasp of social media and great
interpersonal skills to make an impact with our dedicated team.

You’ll have the chance to garner support for the longest running multi-species monitoring
programme for mammals in the UK, enabling us to help these fascinating but often overlooked
mammals to thrive!
