Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Student Inclusion Manager to join Equity, Student Services and Wellbeing, Administrative Division.

The Student Inclusion Manager leads the development and implementation of whole-of-institution strategies and programs that support improved student access, participation and success in education for under-represented groups. This includes identifying and promoting evidence-informed best practice initiatives, providing strategic advice and brokering partnerships across QUT and externally. The position leads the realisation and reporting of QUT’s Commonwealth-funded widening participation strategy, and provides strategic and operational advice across the University on matters relating to educational equity.

What you need to succeed

  • Education, training and/or relevant experience in an education or social justice area equivalent to completion of postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex information with stakeholders and audiences (internal and external) from diverse backgrounds and levels of seniority, and to establish operational and strategic partnerships across organisational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and analyse complex issues, related to educational equity, and develop relevant policy and strategic responses for university consideration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with QUT’s senior managers and external organisations on social justice matters, providing advice, and developing strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams in a large organisation, within established policy frameworks with delegated authority.
  • Knowledge of policy, legislation, and current issues related to education and social justice in higher education.
