Senior Project Manager x2 – Transformation

We are looking for talented individuals to support a significant strategic change programme
focused on transforming how the RSPB works to allow us to be even more effective for nature. We
are offering both Full-time and Part-Time positions on a 12-month fixed-term contract. We would

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong project management background to
make a real difference, leading projects within a large integrated programme and project
management team and joining a team of project professionals, including volunteers who deliver
organisational-wide change across the RSPB.

What’s the role about?

Nature is in Crisis, and here at the RSPB we are working across the UK and overseas to save it.
As the UK’s largest nature conservation charity, with a workforce of over 14,000 employees and
volunteers, we have an ambitious programme of work to transform our approach and deepen our
impact.

We are looking for talented individuals with a strong record of leading organisational change
projects to help us develop, deliver and embed a range of organisational changes to make the
RSPB more efficient and effective. The work will be fast-paced, commercial, far-reaching and
innovative, covering many of our operations.

If you are an experienced project manager, with a strong track record of delivering people led
(i.e. non-digital) organisational change, managing risks, budget and quality, and have a desire
to make a lasting difference for nature, we’d love to speak to you.

You can be based anywhere in the UK, and we are very supportive of flexible and remote or
hybrid working. 

Key activities will include:

• Managing a number of concurrent projects across departments and countries
• Working with stakeholders from across Great Britain and Northern Ireland. You’ll manage and
  maintain their support and engagement throughout your project’s lifecycle and highlight
  emerging risks and issues, advising on mitigation, to the appropriate project board
• Communicating and engaging with colleagues and stakeholders at a variety of levels. You
  will be confident in articulating project needs with Senior Management to drive and manage
  positive change
• Managing all interdependencies between the project and departments/teams that will be
  impacted as a result of the change 

Essential skills, knowledge and experience: 

• Experience of managing multiple, people led (i.e. non-digital) projects to time, cost and
  quality.
• Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders and effectively
  communicating change across an organisation
• Ability to operate within a standard project management framework, e.g. PRINCE2, Agile,
  RSPB Project Management Framework
• Experience of owning, updating and reporting against a project plan
• Experience of proactive issue resolution, and risk management

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Relevant professional Project and/or Programme management qualifications.
