Job Description

This role will report to the Regular Giving Team Lead to support and champion growth and acquisition in our Child Sponsorship program. You’ll be responsible for delivering ongoing growth and retention activities to our regular giving donors—upwards of 6,000 donors raising a total of $4.8 million per year. You’ll work with key stakeholders to implement fundraising projects and activities, growing our supporter base by increasing the number of Child Sponsors. You’ll also work to attract and retain donors for our other regular giving products. And you’ll collaborate closely with our Church partnership, Supporter Engagement and Marketing teams to achieve results and help care for and communicate with our Regular Givers.

You may be at the initial stages of your career and a creative thinker with experience in communication, marketing research, user experience, and campaigns. You may also have experience in project management or want to gain a deeper knowledge of fundraising and retention marketing. You’re naturally excited about data driven trends and will gain satisfaction improving the supporter experience for our trusted and loyal donors. You enjoy the challenge of collaborating with other teams to achieve your goals and no job is too small for you. We’re looking for someone who is team orientated, skilled in project management, with experience in marketing and a desire to grow their career in fundraising, acquisition and/or retention marketing.

Desired Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who has: 

  • An ability to manage projects from inception to delivery, achieving outcomes while also delivering day to day tasks
  • Skills as a natural connector and experience in managing stakeholders to achieve an outcome
  • An understanding of donor behaviour whether through sales, retail, fundraising or other channels
  • A drive to continuously improve and build on prior learning with a commitment to best practice delivery
  • An innovative approach to problem solving
  • A demonstrated ability to think analytically using performance metrics and campaign tracking to improve campaign performance.
  • A demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel.
  • Administrative experience and ideally experience working with databases/customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Both passion and interest in the international development sector and Child Sponsorship programming.

Desirable

  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as fundraising, marketing, communications, project management, or demonstrated transferable skills in a similar role
  • Exposure to Asana or a similar project management tool
  • Ability to supervise and motivate volunteers
  • Experience in digital acquisition campaigns, retention and acquisition growth and telemarketing
  • A demonstrated understanding of fundraising principles, segmentation tools and their implementation
