SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI’s interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in some twenty countries, the SI teams – 2500 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
ABOUT THE MISSION
SI has been working in Syria since 2012, and is today operating in North East Syria (NES) and North West Syria (NWS)
The NES programs provide an integrated assistance in the WASH, NFI, Shelter, FSL sectors to displaced populations and host communities affected by the conflict.
The NWS programs provide WASH and NFI/Winterization support to affected populations.
In NES and NWS, the lifesaving activities are:
Wash – emergency package in IDPs settlements,
Distribution of NFIs and cash for vulnerable populations,
And in NES, SI is implementing more sustainable activities:
Individuals’ houses rehabilitations
ABOUT THE JOB
General objective:
The BHA Award/ Grant Manager will provide effective management of the assigned BHA grants and the supervision of the partnership with Un Ponte Per throughout the project cycle and the supervision of the partnership with Un Ponte Per. management process. This includes high-quality donor reporting, donor communication for changes in programming and proposal development (should the program be extended for another year). The Grant BHA Award Manager is part of the coordination team in Amman but delocalized in North-East Syria for a greater proximity with the programs. He/She, reports to the Grant and Partnership Coordinator and works closely with the Reporting and Communication Officer, the program and support departments and the field teams in Syria (northwest and northeast). He/She will partially manage a Finance and a Meal Deputy, in charge of consolidating data from SI and other partners.
General responsibilities:
* The development of timely and high-quality proposals reports and modification requests for submission to donors and consortium partners.
* Manage regular communication with donors, out of the contractual reporting system (in case of security incident or humanitarian update for instance)
* Advising on compliance with donor procedures and regulations throughout the grant cycle and building the capacity of new and existing staff.
* The supervision of the partner’s action, including monitoring visits and follow-up meeting, and the consolidation of partners’ reports
The main challenges:
Partnership management with UPP with HEALTH and PROTECTION sectors
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
Set up partnership and monitoring framework with UPP
Ensure timely monthly reporting to donor

YOUR PROFIL
Education / academic background:
Masters degree in humanitarian assistance, social sciences, international relations or other relevant subjects
Specific skills and experience:
1. Knowledge of BHA guidelines
2. Partnership Management
3. Knowledge of HEALTH and PROTECTION sectors
TRANSVERSAL SKILLS:
1. Strong organizational skills
2. Strong communication skills
3. Ability to work under pressure
Language:
1. English
2. Levantine Arabic is an asset
SI WILL OFFER YOU
A salaried position:
According to experience, starting from EUR 2310 gross per month (2100 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 700.
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate’s country of origin and the place of assignment.
Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked.
Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

Security risks are low, and restrictions are very limited.
However, when going on the field bases, living conditions are more basic, with fewer opportunities for socialization, as well as some individual movements’ restrictions. Security levels vary according to the different geographical locations and changes of context.
