The Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AdSEARCH) project of icddr,b aims to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes and realize rights among different population groups with distinct SRH needs in Bangladesh. To be implemented by researchers from different divisions of icddr,b, this research project will explore, understand, and assess some key components of SRHR among different population groups that have the highest burden, distinct needs, and vulnerabilities. Under this umbrella project, we are conducting a study that intends to develop and assess the impact of Balika Bodhu, a combined social norm and empowerment intervention for promoting SRHR among married adolescent girls.
The Field Research Supervisor reporting to the Research Investigator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing research to conduct high-quality research within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values:
  • Ensure proper project implementation in the field through planning fieldwork;
  • Execute field implementation plan as per protocol;
  • Guide team members on the completion of tasks, activities, reports, and documents;
  • Train the Balika Bodhu intervention implementation team in the field;
  • Qualitative and quantitative session monitoring;
  • Plan for the monitoring of the Balika Bodhu intervention sessions with married adolescent girls, their husbands, and community members;
  • Observe the sessions and provide feedback to the facilitators and co-facilitators regarding their session delivery;
  • Enter quantitative monitoring data using tablets;
  • a daily report to the Research Investigator regarding session observation;
  • Maintain communication with the implementing partner (Nari Maitree);
  • Ensure all study participants are receiving the intervention in the correct sequence and amount.
Required qualifications and experience:
Masters in Sociology:
  • Candidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in a relevant field of work;
  • Candidates must have experience in TAB base data collection/management using SurveyCTO/REDCap and MS Excel;
  • Candidates should have adequate knowledge of intervention monitoring, motivational skills, and training skills;
  • Candidates must be team-friendly with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment, displaying patience, kindness, and tact;
  • Candidates having the ability to communicate in local dialect will be given preference;
