Duties and Responsibilities
Organizational setting and reporting relationships: The position is located in the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), Somalia. The incumbent will be based in multiple locations and reports to the Chief Central Warehouse Section. Within the delegated authority, the Property Disposal Officer will be responsible for the following duties: • Assurance of property disposal protocols in preparation for disposal through commercial sale in multiple locations; • Develop plans to execute current and future commercial sales; • Liaise with third-party stakeholders in the commercial sale process, including outsourced service providers (UNHCR, auctioneer, etc.) • Provide financial oversight in commercial sales, including estimates of value in line with operational depreciation standards before sale preparation. • Liaise with Central Warehouse Section and Property Disposal Section in processing future sales programmes. • Develop relevant SOPs in conjunction with stakeholders to ensure future handover of responsibilities.
Qualifications/special skills
High School Diploma. At least eight years of progressive experience in property management and disposal, administration and related fields. Working knowledge of SAP systems.
Languages
Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
