IFC’s South Asia department is seeking an intern as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP).  The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world. 
Duties and Accountabilities:  
  • Work with sector/industry leads at IFC to draft and finalize communication pieces for external audiences, including stakeholders such the governments, potential private sector clients to aid IFC operations in India.  
  • Consolidate, analyze, and document history of IFC engagements in sectors such as renewables, housing and micro, small & medium enterprises to clearly communicate impact in creating markets and fulfilling development gaps within India. 
  • Research and collaborate with sectoral experts to prepare a communications repository on new and emerging areas, such as Electric Vehicles, Green Hydrogen, Blended Finance, and others. 
  • Work with country-level, as well as project-level operations and financial data to highlight insights and convey clear and jargon free results to external audience. Prepare short pitch notes for external stakeholders. 
  • Create a set of supporting case studies on IFC’s key sectors of operations in India using quantitative and qualitative data. 
  • Utilize creative writing skills to draft timely and relevant social media content for IFC handles.  
  • Assist the India Country Management in other projects, as may be needed.  
Selection Criteria:
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program   
  • Preferred field of study: International Development, Political Economy, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics. 
  • 2-3 years of previous work experience   
  • Fluency in English  
  • Ability to work in India (citizenship or OCI card)
