About the Role

We are seeking a Pasifika Youth Worker who will support the delivery of culturally appropriate projects and programs that seek to advance outcomes for Pasifika young people and families. This role will be based in the South Eastern Metropolitan Region, with the work covering Local Government Areas of Casey, Cardinia and Greater Dandenong. The Pasifika Youth Worker will facilitate opportunities for Pasifika young people to meaningfully engage in education and employment pathways and improve referral pathways to specialist services for Pasifika youth. Furthermore, this role will support Pasifika Youth to strengthen their connection to community and culture through leadership and other capability building activities in collaboration with the broader Le Mana team, other CMY program areas and community partners.

  • Hours: 22.8 hours per week, FTE 0.6
  • Fixed Term: until 30 June 2025
  • Base Salary (SCHADS Level 4): $82,043.52 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging

In addition, you will have

  1. Demonstrated experience in delivering programs to Pasifika young people in social, recreational, school and community settings and an understanding of positive group facilitation and training practices
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the needs of Pasifika young people and their families and communities, with an ability to identify issues of concern using a strengths focussed and holistic approach.
  3. A demonstrated understanding of youth participation and community development principles
  4. Experience in delivering programs in partnership with other organisations and an ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people and communities
  5. Demonstrated administrative, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
