Position Overview | This position seeks an experienced-level individual as Coordinator of the Office of Student Belonging. The primary purpose will be to plan programs and activities and assist with student engagement opportunities, including but not limited to developing, implementing, coordinating, and executing programs that create a sense of belonging; leading the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of awareness and history month programs with a focus on fostering understanding and appreciation of student backgrounds; developing and providing, or working with outside partners to provide programs where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive academically and personally. Assisting in marketing efforts, including managing Instagram and Facebook pages; collaborating with other departments and organizations to plan and implement programs and further student success. |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

Preferred Qualifications | The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Master’s degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in designing and implementing programs that embrace students various backgrounds, traditions, languages, and perspectives. Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate). Knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate). Ability to work independently. Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed. *Knowledge of current issues and best practices in student sense of belonging programming. *Demonstrated ability to create assessment plans and implement findings. |

Job Duties
o | Promotes and delivers existing Student Affairs services, activities, organizations, and volunteer opportunities to both traditional and other non-traditional students through the effective use of web sites, chat, multimedia, online communities, email lists, publications, and face to face meetings. |

o | Prepares and monitors department budget, submitting timely reports to supervisor. |

o | Prepare Student Service Fee requests with assistance and advice from the Assistant Director. |

o | Design, plan, manage, and maintain all programs that embrace various backgrounds, traditions, languages, and perspectives, aiming to foster a welcoming campus environment, including, but not limiting, undocumented students, student veterans, military spouses, and military dependents. |

o | Oversee the Veterans Success Center. |
---|
o | Spearhead and work with festival week committees to plan, implement, and execute heritage and awareness month programming. |

o | Provide educational opportunities for students to learn about differing views, cultures, and more. |

o | Plan and implement programs that embrace various backgrounds, traditions, languages, and perspectives throughout the academic year. |

o | Assess student needs and student satisfaction with current programming. |

o | Learn and implement best practices and enhance understanding of the specific needs of students and student leaders. |

o | Manage complex student issues, including but not limited to: transitioning to college, personal development and academic skill building, organization management, and exploring career options preparing them for life after UNT Dallas. |

o | Responsible for assessing programs to ensure access and promote success, using CAS standards and departmental learning outcomes. |
