ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Office of Academic and Student Affairs is the central location for all undergraduate and graduate administrative academic functions in the College. This office encompasses student recruitment, student pre-admission advisement, the admission process, monitoring of student progress and probationary status, domestic and international field experiences, certification of students for graduation, maintains all student records and college academic files, develops all college and university academic data reports, develops implements, and evaluates college-wide academic policies, develops national accreditation reports, and operates the college-wide undergraduate program. The Office of Academic and Student Affairs is led by the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Coordinator works directly with the Director of the Master’s Degree Foundational Core, and the Co-Directors of the Master’s Degree Programs to assist with the management of the COPH Master’s Degree programs, to include academic program planning, implementation, and evaluation. This job performs management functions directly related to academic instruction and training for the master’s level programming. This position supervises the Foundational Core Training team, including Teaching Assistants and Academic Writing or Analysis Mentors. This position has direct communication with faculty, foundational core teaching faculty, academic advisors, and the academic affairs team and will assist with duties related to program requirements and student progression.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Director of the Master’s Degree Foundational Core, manages day-to-day operations of the program.  Oversees and assists in all curricular matters.  Supervises the Foundational Core Training team, including Teaching Assistants and Academic Writing or Analysis Mentors.  Maintains knowledge of new and current University and College policies, procedures, and requirements and provides updates and guidance to the programs faculty and students, as needed.
Performs a broad range of management duties supporting academic instruction and training, including assisting with evaluation of programs, helping to maintain academic standards and degree requirements and accreditation matters.  Collaborates with program Directors and the Academic Affairs teams or other administrators in a variety of tasks to maintain the quality and viability of their graduate program.  Assists in graduate student orientation and the professional development activities of graduate students.
Assists Program Directors and the Academic Affairs team in monitoring student academic progress and performance in the program and the meeting of milestones (e.g. CPH, comprehensive exam), as well as assisting as necessary with Academic Improvement Plans for students on academic probation.  Provides guidance and advice to graduate students as they proceed through their program.
Coordinates recruitment and admission activities or maintain close contact with those who perform these functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:

This position requires a Master’s degree in education or a field of study related to the academic program, or a Bachelor’s degree in those same fields with a minimum of two years of experience. Four years of direct experience can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree and Six years of direct experience can substitute for a Master’s degree (BS 1310).
PREFERRED:

MPH preferred with at least 1 year of experience coordinating a graduate level program in public health; must have at least 1 year of experience working with learning management systems (Canvas preferred)
