The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is a pivotal role within NEP UK. As an ever-growing organisation, Gemini House acts as a hub for both the NEP UK truck and fly-away projects, but also as a major logistical facility for international major events facilitated by NEP.

As Warehouse and Logistics Manager, you will become the primary manager of our warehouse environment. You will work closely with our Director of Operations and the wider operations, technical project management and engineering departments to ensure that the warehouse operates as a slick, organised and safe environment. You will help lead in the logistical planning of projects, having strong knowledge in shipping requirements from packing to delivery and day to day asset movement both in UK and abroad.

You will be expected to understand the pressures of this high paced environment, upholding high standards of equipment care and facilities operations. You will forward plan for the best use of our available space and work with all departments to ensure that the warehouse team best supports the delivery of our business. You will conduct your work with a highly organised approach, a clear mind and a thorough attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be required to manage and supervise the Warehouse Operations team on a daily basis.
  • Effective Management and monitoring of the goods in/out system – ensuring that all staff are made aware of the processes to be followed.
  • Management of the warehouse facility, ensuring that suitable delegation and collaborative work with Stores Supervisors and Base Rigging Team leads to it being kept clean, organised and presentable.
  • Being pro-active in the warehouse, forward planning and ensuring there is adequate space for up-coming preparation or returning of jobs into the facility.
  • A responsibility for the logistical delivery of NEP UK’s projects, to include the compilation of ATA carnet, commercial invoices and other various shipping documentation for worldwide transit of these projects.
  • Supervise the load and unload of company & hired resources on to tenders and scanners with reference to planning documents at all times.
  • Supervise and manage the schedule of the staff van driver and external couriers to OB sites/hire suppliers/manufacturers when required within tight deadlines.
  • Help manage out of hours queries when required regarding equipment failures and/or replacement and ensure that you are able to respond quickly and efficiently to any requests
  • Contribute to the implementation of Health & Safety processes, taking on responsibility for all aspects of Health & Safety within the warehouse, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Collaborate with onsite security to ensure NEP UK’s assets remain secure and the warehouse environment protected.

Skills / Qualifications

  • You have a proven track record of team management with excellent leadership skills and an ability to implement a strong work ethic.
  • Superb communication skills with the ability to liaise across multiple departments.
  • You have a thorough understanding of the Outside Broadcast and Fly-pack project facility business.
  • You understand the key technical workflows with regards to an OB and Fly-pack and understand the importance of providing a well-functioning warehouse environment for job preparation.
  • You will have experience working with international shipping agencies and an in-depth knowledge of shipping requirements and experience in preparation of relevant paperwork.
  • An awareness of Health & Safety processes and the up-holding of ‘good practice’ in the warehouse environment.
  • The ability to gain a deep knowledge of engineering and equipment language and the ability to keep up-to-date with movements and new technology.
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office packages in particular including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Forklift Licence Desirable (Training Provided if Required).
  • Full UK Driving licence.
