Reviving Exmoor’s Heartlands is a Landscape Recovery project led by a partnership of Exmoor
National Park Authority, local farmers and land managers. Combining farming, nature recovery,
climate adaptation and resilience and public enjoyment, the project aims to ensure a long-term
future for the iconic central moorlands of Exmoor.

We are now looking for a Project Manager to join us on a full-time basis for a fixed-term
contract until the 31st March 2026, working 37 hours per week.

The Role

Funded by the Landscape Recovery Scheme, the Project Manager will lead the delivery of the
Reviving Exmoor’s Heartlands project in partnership with local farmers and land managers.

Managing the two-year development phase of the project, you’ll develop a long-term business
model and focus on producing plans for key deliverables. These will include the Land Management
Plan, Blended Finance Plan, Governance Plan, Monitoring and Evaluation Plan, Site Access Plan
and Stakeholder Engagement Plan.

You’ll provide expert advice and guidance, ensuring the project Steering Group is supported to
make key project decisions and engaging with the Natural England Project Liaison Officer to
ensure the project progresses in line with expectations.

Additionally, you will:

  • Oversee contractors
  • Engage with statutory stakeholder organisations to secure necessary legal consent
  • Manage the Landscape Recovery budget and project expenditure

About You

To be considered as a Project Manager, you will need:

  • Significant experience of project managing the delivery of conservation projects and
    programmes, including administrative duties and communications
  • Experience of managing finances
  • Experience of supervising contractors
  • Knowledge of grant programmes, including agri-environment schemes and green finance
    opportunities
  • Knowledge and understanding of National Parks and farming
  • Knowledge of habitat restoration and nature recovery principles
  • Knowledge of climate change and opportunities for climate mitigation and adaptation through
    nature recovery and land management
  • A degree in a nature conservation or a land management-related discipline
  • A full, valid driving licence or the ability to travel across the national park
