We’re looking for a Partnerships Assistant to join our dynamic Partnerships Team. You will be supporting the Partnerships team through excellent admin and organisation skills and attention to detail, verbal and written communications and be part of the team thinking creatively to achieve our strategy goals. In doing so you’ll enable War Child to support more of the world’s most vulnerable children.
The ideal candidate will be someone eager to learn about fundraising with a keen interest in growing their skills and experience within a partnerships team and the enthusiasm to work with companies to bring about positive change to children’s lives.
Your Role
We are looking for a Partnerships Assistant to provide first class administrative support across the team and be a key part of maximising the Partnerships team’s capacity to steward and grow our existing partners. You will support the team with the day-to-day management of smaller partners, including digital stewardship and employee engagement. You will ensure that these partners remain engaged with War Child, and in turn, drive income to help achieve our team strategy.
Your Responsibilities
- To play a key role in supporting the Partnerships team to maximise fundraising income for War Child
- Support the Partnerships team with the day-to-day management of smaller partners
- Work with the Partnerships Manager on the digital stewardship – including producing the e-newsletter and compilation of general reports
- To send out e-newsletter and correspondence to partners using Dot Digital/Salesforce
- Support the Partnerships Manager with employee engagement activities and plans – setting up Lunch & Learn presentations, organising take over days and other engagement activities, coordinating challenge events, supporting partners with staff-led events; drafting bespoke materials and representing War Child at partner events
- Work with the Partnerships team to help plan and deliver cultivation events throughout the year
- Ensure that all communications with partners are stored accurately on War Child’s database (Salesforce)
- Ensure that all of Partnerships team’s key documents, reports and event documents are correctly filed on the War Child internal system for easy reference for the Fundraising Team
- Lead on the research and screening of new prospects for the Partnerships team in line with War Child’s robust screening policies
- Support the Partnerships team on general administrative tasks including (but not limited to) donation processing, income reconciliation, raising invoices, event liaison, venue support, arranging travel and booking internal and external meetings
- Use all tools available to ensure compliance and our ethical fundraising policy are adhered to, this includes partnership agreements, due diligence processes, CRM database management as well as GDPR and fundraising regulations.
- Represent War Child with commitment and enthusiasm to build new relationships and contacts for War Child, supporting colleagues to ensure that new prospects are followed up and their interest capitalised on
- Develop strong relationships and maintain excellent communication channels with other teams and departments across War Child
- Actively participate in regular department and team meetings, contributing to strategy discussion and decisions that will be beneficial to the development of fundraising activities
- Contribute to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant to WCUK’s Child Safeguarding and Adults at Risk Policies.

- A natural people-person, who is friendly and enjoys communicating with supporters over the phone and in writing.
- Strong and proactive in your approach to managing your own workload, and able to work to tight deadlines and multitask at short notice, in a busy environment.
- Able to think creatively, come up with new and relevant ideas and be proactive.
- Someone with an excellent eye for detail and highly self-organised.
- A flexible team player, able to work under your own initiative, take instructions from others, and go the extra mile for our wonderful supporters.
- Experienced in carrying out administration tasks and processes, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experienced in using CRM databases to record information promptly and accurately, although this is not essential to be considered for this role.
