The Research Analyst will work part-time (50%) on the HOPE HOME Study. The Research Analyst (Bilingual – able to speak and read in both Spanish and English is required) will work on the HOPE HOME Study, a longitudinal cohort study funded by the NIA examining the relationship between discrimination, stigma, medical mistrust, health care utilization, and health outcomes among homeless older adults aged 50 and over. HOPE HOME is in its 11th year, and recently received funding for the next five years.
The candidate will work on studies, as assigned, with homeless populations. Incumbent will, under the direction of a Project Manager, engage in activities including:

  • Conduct structured interviews in person and over the telephone with participants in English and Spanish
  • Code qualitative interview transcripts
  • Manage and extract data through REDCAP and similar data capture instruments with support from Senior Analysts
  • Contribute to data interpretation
  • Ability to distill complex data into meaningful summaries, reports, and visuals
  • Analyze data to identify themes and patterns
  • Conduct weekly data-cleaning activities
  • Keep study databases updated
  • Call participants and send reminder letters to maintain retention rates

The Research Analyst will be expected, after an initial period of training and observation, to work independently, with oversight by the Project Manager. The position will require a flexible work schedule. While many days will have regular work hours at the study field site, there will be a need (scheduled in advance) for flexibility for early morning and evening hours.
