Overall purpose of the role, under the direct line management of the Economic Recovery (EcRec) team leader, entails the effective and quality implementation of intake sessions as an entry point for the EcRec activities, serving as the primary point of contact for the livelihoods center and being responsible for the first contact with visitors. The Economic Recovery Assistant – Intake is expected to coordinate with employability and self-employment officers to receive market-related information and technical guidance and to share information and opportunities with the livelihoods center visitors on a daily basis.
The role includes conducting a preliminary assessment to understand center visitors’ situation against project criteria and advise on EcRec service selection.
Geographic scope: Şanlıurfa
This role has a field focus on Şanlıurfa province in effective implementation of economic recovery activities responsible for full compliance with DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to developing economic recovery strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:
General Programming & Operations & Interaction with stakeholders:
- Conduct wage and self-employment intake sessions with potential project participants from refugee and host communities in the geographic area of assignment.
- Constantly share feedback and observations about intake forms and local community trends with the supervisor.
- Conduct quality follow-up sessions with EcRec activities participants and ensure feedback is reported to component officers and team leader.
- Refer cases to relevant economic recovery and protection departments based on needs identified during intake sessions, if required.
- Maintain the documentation of required tools and forms archived and uploaded online.
- Act as the receptionist for the livelihoods center to welcome visitors and respond to queries.
- Work closely with EcRec officers (employability and wage-employment) to remain up to date on the economic recovery team activities.
- Provide constant feedback on the outreach activities of EcRec team and advise on enhancing outreach to host and refugee communities in the geographic area.
- Assist the EcRec team in communication with project participants to facilitate successful participation in EcRec activities.
- Engage in outreach activities related to the project (with community members, local NGOs, and private sector contacts).
- Contribute to the organization of regular program monitoring of program activities through site monitoring visits and FGDs, assure proper utilization and documentation of program monitoring tools, and prepare reports on the findings with action plans.
- Support data collection of any assessment/research that may arise during the duration of the program.
- Other activities required for the implementation of EcRec assigned by the line manager.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Ensure intake sessions are implemented according to MEAL requirements and inform the team leader and MEAL focal point about corrective actions needed.
- Facilitate the communication between MEAL team and project participants to ensure the timely implementation of MEAL plans.
Technical Support:
- Contribute to the project review meeting based on field observations and the technical review of intake tools used for the implementation of the project.
- Assist economic recovery officers to ensure project participants are linked with livelihood opportunities based on market trends and in line with DRC’s decent work framework.

The Environmental & Social Policy and Risk Department (CES) serves as the guardian of IFC Environmental and Social (E&S) policies and standards (for more information, visit https://www.ifc.org/en/what-we-do/sector-expertise/sustainability/policies-and-standards). The department is responsible for providing independent E&S expertise, advice, guidance, and review of E&S risk management across the Corporation. In addition, CES provides global support to IFC’s regional E&S teams, embedded in operations. This support includes assistance with project-level stakeholder engagement and grievance response, E&S knowledge sharing and training, and the development and implementation of E&S systems and tools. IFC is committed to proactive problem-solving and response to stakeholder complaints and concerns related to the E&S impacts of IFC’s investments.  CES is looking for a highly motivated development professional to join the Stakeholder Engagement and Grievance Response (SEGR) team. The successful candidate will work closely with IFC’s Regional Departments and E&S, Industry, Communications & Outreach, and Legal teams to support regional and project-level CSO engagement, facilitate implementation of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) policy, and manage effective grievance resolution for project-affected communities. Duties and Accountabilities  •  Lead engagement and project support to enhance IFC’s responsiveness to stakeholder concerns, including E&S complaints brought to the IFC’s independent accountability mechanism, the CAO, or received directly by IFC (Direct Complaints), and concerns raised by CSOs. Advise project teams, and IFC clients on complainant engagement and contribute to problem-solving and complaint resolution. Strengthen IFC’s relationship with CSOs, fostering dialogue and building support for IFC’s operations and key institutional priorities. •  Liaise with CAO teams and support regional teams in the timely preparation and implementation of IFC’s responses to CAO cases. Advise teams based on case precedent and lessons learned.  •  Guide IFC teams through the Direct Complaints process, facilitating complainant engagement and early and proactive response to E&S complaints received directly by IFC. •  Support project teams in identifying CSO engagement opportunities and monitoring potential E&S CSO related risks in projects throughout the project life cycle and promote constructive CSO relationship management in projects, including through the development and implementation of CSO engagement plans. •  Proactively engage across departments to mainstream stakeholder engagement and grievance response within IFC. •  Develop and deliver regular progress reports, training, guidance materials, and lessons learned to IFC staff and management. Selection Criteria •  Master’s degree in social/environmental sciences, international development, international relations, policy/public affairs, human rights, dispute/conflict resolution or other relevant discipline. •  Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience related to E&S risk assessment and management, social or community development, stakeholder engagement, grievance response, independent accountability mechanisms, dispute resolution, or CSO/community engagement. •  Familiarity with IFC’s Sustainability Framework or equivalent. •  Pragmatic, problem-solving orientation with a high degree of responsiveness and proactivity.
