ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Office of Community and Affinity Programs works diligently to promote USF?s commitment to community and fundraising programs within the Foundation. The office?s primary focus is to cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships between USF and community members, promote community and affinity initiatives, execute programmatic efforts designed to enhance the donor and student experience, and demonstrate impact.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides leadership for Community and Affinity Programs within the Department of Initiatives, Programs and Annual Giving at the USF Foundation. This position is responsible for all strategic and functional operations of various affinity programs, as well as other initiatives within the office. This includes developing, coordinating and managing Professional Development and Company Classroom mentoring programs that serve as the philanthropic pipeline to engage prospects and donors with the programs. In addition, the position is responsible for all aspects of special programs and donor-centered events and provides exceptional donor stewardship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs the execution of the Foundation’s strategic and operational direction related to cultural and community affinity programs. This includes developing, maintaining and executing all aspects of the operational functions, including the Professional Development, Company Classroom, Peer-to-Peer Mentoring, Student Advisory Council, and Program Executive Committee. Develops, implements and maintains operational plans, procedures and guidelines for all functions. Oversee a streamlined process to coordinate communications. Manage mentoring, professional development, and special events engaging internal and external stakeholders. Maintain current collaboration and work to establish new partnerships with internal and external partners. Works with leadership to recommend objectives, policies and plans and implement policies within office.
Develops, implements, and maintains all aspects of multiple events administered by the Office of Community and Affinity Programs and events involving USF Presidential Advisory Committees. Work strategically with the development officers to ensure there is a philanthropic and fundraising component to each event. Prepare event briefings for Foundation and University Leadership attending managed events. Manage expenditures related to these events. Work with supervisor to prepare an annual budget for these events and programs and manage expenditures. Manage adhoc projects as assigned by Assistant Vice President. Participate in advancement related meetings and team activities. Work with Office of Donor Relations on special projects and events to enhance the donor experience.
Develop office communications, fundraising and marketing collateral, as well as stewardship collateral to support the programs. Work closely with Advancement Communications and Marketing (ACM) team to develop print and digital communications that celebrate our donors and demonstrate the impact of their support. Work with ACM team to create a communications plan for all events, activities and initiatives.
Develop, implement and maintain donor stewardship efforts within the Office of Community and Affinity Programs. Create and implement strategic plan to provide meaningful stewardship opportunities for donors.  Plan and implement stewardship engagement with donors that coordinates with development efforts. Develop stewardship touches and engagement opportunities that demonstrate appreciation and adherence to donor intent. Serve as liaison between scholarship recipients and donors. Provide high level service to donors to community and cultural affinity programs.
Manage and coordinate the affinity programs and all standing and associated ad hoc committees. Serve as the Foundation liaison for the volunteers. Represent the program(s) on appropriate and affiliated internal committees and alumni interest groups. Build strong working relationships with staff, managers, deans, development officers, volunteers, prospects, donors and University leaders involved in implementing and on-going management of campus community and affinity programs. All efforts are consensus-driven and have the potential to have a significant influence on the external community’s views on the University and the Foundation.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of five years related exempt experience, including two years of experience managing exempt level employees.
PREFERRED:
Bachelors degree and 3-5 years experience managing student, donor and volunteer initiatives; experience working within the community.
