Guest Services Assistant to Oxbow Meadows. Primary duties include ensuring visitors are greeted and the supervision of routine Saturday operations and programming. This position works Tuesday – Saturday with evenings as needed. This position is offered for one year with annual renewal pending adequate funding.
Significant Duties and Responsibilities include: Conduct all aspects of guest services, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls and emails, front desk support, selling programs and events, program check-in, registering guests for programs, taking payment, record keeping, receiving packages, collecting invoices and work orders, and other duties assigned.; Under the supervision of the Executive Director and Assistant Director, will provide weekend oversight of part-time employees, student workers, volunteers, and interns.; Support the management of the gift store, including display, inputting inventory, record-keeping, conduct general reporting, use of point of sale, and supporting student workers during sales.; Maintain the general cleanliness of the visitor center, ensuring gift store is stocked, and all public spaces are accessible.; Growing visitor donations, memberships, repeat customers, and volunteer interest.; Frequently providing interpretative walking tours to guests, visitors, and to groups of all ages.; Provide staffing and educational support in off-site, field trips, weekend and evening events, to support the mission and promote OMELC to various groups, including schools, community events, and at other organizations.; Support other departments, programs, events, marketing, and animal care as needed.; Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
Minimum education and experience include: Associate degree or experience in lieu of education.; Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties required.; Must have knowledge of the principles of modern office management and accounting procedures.
The annualized salary for this position is $29,216 and includes full benefits. Please note, continuation of position is contingent upon the availability of funding and/or program needs. This is a 100% revenue-funded position and will be reviewed at the end of every fiscal year for position availability (July – September).
The successful candidate will have experience: Interacting with the public in person and over the phone.; Multitasking.; Ability to set priorities.; In addition, a successful candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, be people-oriented and comfortable interacting with a wide variety of audiences.
