The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) Division of Water Rights has an opening for one (1) Environmental Scientist position in the San Joaquin Unit of the Bay-Delta: San Joaquin Section. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 14th Floor, Sacramento, California 95814.

Duties:

Under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), the incumbent will perform complex and varied biological analyses, research, writing, and modeling assignments related to the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta (Bay-Delta). The incumbent is expected to work collaboratively with Division staff and maintain high level contacts with other organizations and is responsible for managing difficult and sensitive responses to public and interagency contacts. Knowledge of scientific disciplines related to water resources management such as aquatic ecology, fisheries biology, hydrology, water quality, or related fields is required.

The incumbent performs complex and varied biological analyses, research, writing, and modeling assignments related to the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta (Bay-Delta). The incumbent is expected to maintain high level contacts with other organizations and is responsible for managing difficult and sensitive responses to public and interagency contacts.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $4,145 – $7,926 / month

The Water Resources Control Board is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSFL) Qualified Employer.
