About the Role

We are seeking a 42-month full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) team of DEMETRA “Democratic Governance, Environmental and Climate Challenges, and Societal Transformation: Deliberation, Inclusiveness, and Citizen Empowerment for Sustainable Food Systems.

About You

The PDRA will undertake and support research on DEMETRA and will report to the Principal Investigator (Professor Maria Grasso).  They will be embedded in a larger team of project partners from across Europe working collaboratively and will have the opportunity to participate in project meetings and conferences; they are expected support project research activities including coordinating and publicising activities as part of the QMUL team, as well as to contribute towards outputs and dissemination activities. The PDRA will work with the PI to ensure the successful planning, delivery, logistical administration, record-keeping, communications and reporting of the work undertaken. The research activities planned on the project will involve both quantitative and qualitative methodologies including the write up of literature reviews, the development of questionnaires/research instruments, the writing of reports and policy briefs relaying research results and their implications to diverse types of audiences for broader engagement with the research findings. The School of Politics and International Relations is a vibrant, collegial intellectual community including scholars from a range of disciplinary and methodological perspectives. It is home to a highly diverse cohort of students and offers a broad-ranging and methodologically plural curriculum in the fields of Politics and International Relations.

The School is located within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which comprises eight Schools that deliver the research and education activity of the Faculty. The role sits within the Professional Services job family and the role holder is expected to be an active part of the University’s support staff family, working with academic colleagues across a wide range of responsibilities to help deliver its academic mission.
