The Position:

We are looking for an experienced Data Product Owner within our Data & Analytics team. The team focuses on implementing platform-as-a-service (PaaS) frameworks, tools, and workflows to accelerate product development. This role is essential in our mission to design and build reliable and scalable solutions to run diverse workloads. You will play a key role in overseeing the development and management of data-driven products and services that support our strategic goals.

Role Responsibilities:

Serve as the key liaison between the technical teams and business units, effectively communicating product visions, progress, and outcomes.

Define and prioritise the product backlog, creating clear and detailed product specifications that meet the needs of our stakeholders and support our strategic objectives.

Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business teams to translate complex data requirements into actionable product features and enhancements.

Ensure the successful development, deployment, and scaling of data products, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to delivery and post-launch support.

Monitor product performance, gathering user feedback and data analytics to inform continuous product improvement and innovation.

Lead agile product development practices, facilitating sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

Champion data-driven decision-making across the organisation, advocating for the strategic use of data to drive business outcomes.

Report on results of ongoing operations and projects, as required and produce metrics that measure business impact and success.

Experience:

4+ years’ experience of professional work experience in Data Product Ownership or related field.

Comfortable discussing technical concepts and experience evaluating trade-offs in design with Engineering.

Familiarity with modern industry methodologies, standards, and best practices in data engineering.

Strong interest in problem solving particularly to modify and enhance processes and workflows.

Experience with agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining technical processes and solutions to business partners and management.

Ability to isolate issues and resolve problems logically.

Experience leading a group of people to achieve a common goal.

Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset, able to identify opportunities and risks and act accordingly.
