Knights Experience Team (kNEXT):

The University of Central Florida’s (UCF’s) Knights Experience Team (kNEXT) primarily provides customer service to the Finance Business Centers (FBCs) and the Human Resources Business Centers (HRBCs) employees, assisting with various tasks as needed. kNEXT also provides administrative support services to staff across all colleges and divisions of the University. kNEXT is designed to reduce the administrative burden on individual colleges, consolidate transaction-based functions, create economies of scale, and improve backroom process efficiency so the colleges can better focus resources on their mission.

The team is made up of HR Specialists, Travel/Procurement Specialists, and Customer Care Coordinators who provide information and support across campus, reduce administrative burden, and empower employees to learn and grow. These Specialists operate as campus experts on processes and procedures, support training and development, provide specialized reporting and analytics, and support central office transactions. All employees within kNEXT also work to continuously improve processes and workflows.

The purpose of kNEXT is to ensure the services provided meet or exceed expected performance levels and satisfy the needs of the faculty/staff/students (colleges/divisions).

The Opportunity:

The Manager, kNEXT Finance’s responsibilities include managing the division support shared services teams which includes Facilities & Business Operations, Public Safety, Human Resources, Financial Affairs, and University Relations. Their focus will be on procurement, accounts payable, expense, and travel areas. This role is instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day operations ensuring efficiency, compliance, and a culture of service excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory responsibilities, including hiring and training, monitoring performance and providing feedback, maintaining leave requests and personnel records, setting goals and objectives and monitoring accomplishments, enforcing customer service standards, and resolving complex issues.

  • Support and inform Travel/Procurement Coordinators within kNEXT and the Finance Business Centers (FBCs) as an expert on procurement-related and travel-related processes, policies, and procedures.

  • Continuously review and improve processes to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness. Support travel and procurement SOP development and training efforts.

  • Support requests for the procurement of goods and services and travel expenses, ensuring applicable policies and regulations are adhered to and transactions are processed timely.

  • Coordinate with Finance Business Centers, Center of Expertise, and Workday Enterprise Support Team (WEST) related to process issues and/or improvements.

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide metrics to leadership. Set benchmarks for kNEXT against other areas to identify and implement process improvements.

  • Analyze and evaluate various reports to review, monitor, and audit various procurement and expense transactions to ensure proper processing and compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

  • Proven experience leading and developing a diverse team.

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  • Ability to work effectively, independently, and embrace being part of a team environment by developing highly effective and valued professional relationships with colleagues and cross-functional teams.

  • Working knowledge of financial, procurement, and travel rules, regulations, processes, and procedures.

  • WorkDay, PeopleSoft, and/or Microsoft: Outlook, Excel, and Teams experience.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to explain facts, processes, and procedures to others.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to support, configure, run reports, enter data, or process information.

  • Experience supporting procurement and/or travel-related activities.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The salary for a well-qualified candidate is expected to be around $72,583 based on a combination of education and experience.
