Serves as an active member of a diverse logistics and distribution department. Performs pickup, sorting and delivery functions for gas products including high- pressure cylinders and cryogenic liquids. Must maintain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and hazardous material endorsement. Operates up to 30-foot long straight truck. Loads and unloads vehicles. Utilizes appropriate freight moving equipment as needed. Maintains delivery records. Obtains customer signatures if required. Inspects and maintains cleanliness of vehicles. Reports vehicle problems to receiving supervisor for repair. Scans deliveries and pickups into SC Logic for tracking and KPI purposes. Maintains delivery manifests, productivity cards and vehicle records. Maintains safe operations by complying with organizational operational policies, procedures and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; Works 6:30am-3:30pm M-F.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must possess a current valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with Hazardous Materials Endorsement upon hire and driving record with no more than four (4) active points and/or DUI within the last five (5) years. If applicant has a CDL, but does not possess the Hazardous Materials Endorsement upon hire, the endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of hire or employment will be terminated.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience driving up to 30 foot truck and performing pickup and delivery functions; familiarity using hand held scanning technology with ability to capture and communicate data that support department’s Key Performance Indicators; personally responsible and self-motivated with high integrity; ability to interact and work with other university staff; excellent work ethic; possess a strong spirit of teamwork; ability to take direction and comprehend instructions; good communications skills needed for interactions with customers in making deliveries; ability to operate vehicles safely in a complex environment with high pedestrian traffic. Focus on high levels of customer service.

Additional Information:

Applicants must pass a physical examination and drug/alcohol screen. Position involves lifting up to 100lbs. Drivers will be required to maintain required licensure and successfully complete random drug/alcohol testing throughout the duration of employment. Additional Information:

The Target Hiring Range for this position is $17.10 to $25.65  per hour.
