Description

COOPI is officially registered in Kurdish Region of Iraq and in Federal Iraq and has been active in Iraq since end of 2016 when started implementing a series projects in Education sector in Mosul district with funding from AICS and private donors. In 2019, COOPI started with WASH programming and emergency cash interventions in Salah ad Din governorate. In 2022 COOPI bring WASH, education, child protection, and livelihoods programming in Iraq, later during 2024, COOPI will run a protection project including case management, cash assistance, capacity building activities for the society and the local authorities, community profiling and community dialogues in which the activities are mainly focusing on the community level in-order to better link the society with the provided services with a special focus on the most vulnerable returnees and IDPs, especially those living in informal settlements.

 

General responsibilities of the role:

 

The Field Coordinator is assigned with the responsibility to guarantee the effective implementation of the project activities.

Under direct supervision of PM, Field Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of the activities in his/her area of responsibility, including coordination with DoE, DoY, DoLSA, partner NGO in this project and other stakeholders. S/he will ensure internal and external reporting in compliance with COOPI and the donor’s procedures and that expected results attainment in budget management. S/He ensures the delivery of the activities on-time, on-quality, on-budget.

Responsibilities Role Specific:

 

Program Implementation and Support

  • In coordination with PM set-up workplan for activities in compliance with projects results and donor requirements.
  • In coordination with PM and technical staff organize Community Profiling & Protection Risk Mapping Programs, analysis of sector documents, mapping of services already present in the area of interest.
  • Coordinate the implementation of capacity building programs including DoE, DoLSA and DoY trainings (Social Workers, Psychologists and Teachers) on Protection topics (analysis of Protection risks; Community- based interventions).
  • Support the creation of community events in order to promote the education and social inclusion of children with disabilities
  • Support the Case Managers in performing the case management activities at the area of intervention including child protection, PSS activities, identification and referrals for GBV survivals, and distribution of cash assistance activities.
  • Coordinate the creation of community events in order to promote the PSS and social inclusion of the vulnerability groups (children, Women, People with disabilities, etc.)
  • Provide leadership of the project field team coordinating and supervising the activities and timely addressing challenges during implementation.
  • Assess the needs for goods/services to support activities and report them to the Project Manager ensuring follow up of procurements with Logistic department.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local partners (DoE, DoY, DoLSA and national NGO), local stakeholders and INGOs through effective communication and negotiation in order to ensure achievement of project outcomes.
  • Liaise and Coordinate with Local Partner (PAO) and local authorities on the organization of trainings
  • In coordination with local partner, support assessments to identify needs and gaps in current and prospective areas of operations and prepare reports to feed into new project proposals.

 

Reporting

  • Ensure that programs reporting (internal and external) is completed in a timely and accurate manner in compliance with donor requirements.
  • In coordination with MEAL Officer ensure that assessments, and MEAL activities are implemented in a timely manner
  • Ensure that data are collected, archived, processed, analyzed and disseminated in ethical modalities, in line with internal data protection protocols.
  • Undertake regular field monitoring visits to assess ongoing activities and prepare reports to monitor quality of program implementation.

 

Compliance

  • Organize ad hoc meeting with field staff as relevant to share challenges and priorities and develop action plans to address them.
  • Ensure that projects staff under his/her direct responsibilities are able to perform their roles and responsibilities and provide knowledge transfer if as needed.
  • Ensure a positive work environment, showing sensitivity and understanding in resolving conflicts and facilitating productive discussions with staff and stakeholders.
  • Ensure activities are implemented in line with COOPI Code of Conduct, Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), policies and guidelines

Perform any other task assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications & Preferred skills:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences, Economic, Social work or other field related to social development and humanitarian work.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Ability to plan activities to reach target results and objectives.
  • Experience in Protection.
  • Experienced in preparing/revising reports.
  • Excellent reporting skills/experience in reporting protection activities and issues.

Skills

  • Ability to plan and organize work under pressure and in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Solid team working and management skills in multicultural environment.
  • Positive, problem solver and dynamic with ability to motivate and guide staff.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral).
