Job Summary

Join our dynamic team in the UCSF Division of Geriatrics and lead operations for our innovative online advance care planning program, Prepare for Your Care (PREPARE). In this full-time Operations Manager role, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting Dr. Rebecca Sudore and her team to expand our research, community, and clinical programs, focusing on diverse socially and medically vulnerable older adults and their caregivers.

In this multifaceted role, you’ll dive into the heart of program management, where you’ll oversee PREPARE’s sustainability efforts. You will work with the UCSF licensing office on licensing development You will also source grant opportunities such as, NIH, PCORI, and other sponsors, and manage grant proposals and progress reporting. Your expertise will be instrumental in building a sustainable model for the PREPARE program. You will also work with other team members on PREPARE dissemination efforts, help to manage website and video projects, and work with our legal experts on legal review of our advance directives.

You will be the bridge between our academic program and the community and health systems, fostering partnerships with our dissemination partners and managing projects with contractors and collaborators. Your responsibilities will range from project budget oversight to working with other team members to collect and analyze user feedback.

You are an excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing) and are able to build and sustain collaborative working relationships with team members and other collaborators and partners. You bring a wealth of technical and organizational skills, proficiency in project management tools and software (i.e., primarily SmartSheets and Excel), and have experience with social media platforms. You also have a passion for public health and the well-being of historically marginalized older adults and their caregivers.

THIS POSITION IS A TWO-YEAR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT FROM THE START DATE.

Department Description

The Division of Geriatrics’ work is grounded in a deep commitment to and respect for older persons. We are specialists in aging. Our expertise is in optimizing the health of older individuals and caregivers. We work in the community and on virtually every UCSF campus – Parnassus, San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, Mission Bay, and UCSF Center for Geriatric Care. The Division has over 130 employees including faculty, volunteer clinical faculty, fellows, staff, student interns and volunteers. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, research administration, health policy, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs including Smartsheet, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, REDCAP, Google Analytics and social medial applications.
  • Excellent demonstrated oral and written communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in working independently and with other team members.
  • Excellent program management skills; ability to develop and see complex projects through from start to completion.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently and independently.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals, analyses, and reports.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in areas of underserved populations, public health, health care policy, marketing, licensing or similar fields.
  • Experience with grant writing
  • Experience with social media an press releases
  • Knowledge of advance care planning, palliative care, and /or caregiving
  • Fluency in Spanish or Chinese is helpful, but not required.
