The British Embassy in Kuwait is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position an Information and Technology Support Officer (ITSO) & Corporate Services Officer, job grade Administrative Officer (AO) on a full-time, fixed term contract for two (2) years.
The jobholder will help maintain the Embassy’s IT network, to provide IT support to the user community and assist with Corporate Services functions.

Operation Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd level IT support to the user community.
- Proactive maintenance and support of the Embassy’s IT network, desktops, laptops, network, mobiles and other infrastructure.
- Ensure maximum availability of the Embassy’s IT systems by troubleshooting and resolving IT problems.
- Mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on workstations, laptops, mobiles, printers, scanners, and other peripherals. Escalate incidents as necessary.
- Assist with projects such as office moves, telephony projects, satellite equipment upgrading, deployment and testing, and to support the development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Train and educate staff in IT related subjects on a regular basis.
- Provide cover and back up assistance to the Post Security Manager.
- Play an active part in the Embassies Crisis and Emergency Planning
Administrative responsibilities
- Act as liaison between local users, the Help Desk in the UK, and other IT stakeholders.
- Help protect the security of the system and ensure that potential breaches of security are reported and investigated.
- IT asset, rights, access and user management.
- Develop, document, and maintain policies and procedures for system administration and appropriate use.
- Maintain, develop, and improve Power Automate Flows and Power Apps
- Maintain and administer the embassies CRM-Solution.
Corporate Services Assistant
- Assume responsibility for the contact database administration and orchestrate the dispatch of invitations for Embassy flagship events.
- Oversee the Embassy’s stationery supplies and manage the coordination of printing services.
- Be part of the procurement processes for the FCDO system HERA (training will be provided).
- Other duties as reasonably required to support special events or projects.
The above list is not exhaustive, and the jobholder will be required to be flexible and to take on other duties, projects, and ad hoc tasks as required. The jobholder will also be expected to play a full role in the Embassy’s contingency planning and any crisis response.

- Minimum one (1) year experience in IT support and customer handling.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English and Arabic (this will be tested)
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment
- Working knowledge of maintaining and troubleshooting networks
- Excellent customer support and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise and deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 and troubleshooting.

Working conditions and remuneration:
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, including a non-negotiable gross salary of KWD 769.32 per month. The package includes a good level of medical insurance, a return flight fare to your home country for non-Kuwaitis every two years, relevant social security payments for Kuwaiti nationals, and an engaging working environment. Leave entitlement is 30 days per year (on pro rata basis) plus 14 public holidays.
There are no other allowances payable as part of this package. No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
This position is for a full-time employment, on permanent contract, subject to a 90-working day probationary period.
Conditioned working hours are 38 hours gross per week (this is made up of 35.5 hours net per week and a daily 30-minute lunch break). The normal working hours are 07:30 – 15:30 from Sunday to Wednesday and 07:30 – 13:30 on Thursday. Due to the nature of the work, the jobholder should be flexible in their approach to hours worked as these will be dictated by operational needs and may involve working out-of-hours (evening / weekend).
The Embassy has a strong Learning and Development culture. The successful applicant will be able to develop professional skills through online and in person training courses, and numerous informal learning opportunities.

Process:
The recruitment process, including security clearance, is expected to take around two-three months. The security clearance process includes checks available in country and with UK, dependant on the security level required for the role and the candidate’s profile and UK footprint. You may experience some delay in the progress of this recruitment campaign, and we are working hard to minimise any disruption.
Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful at interview may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of six (6) months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
