Position Title: Database Developer

Reports To: Senior ICT and Systems Manager

POSITIONSUMMARY
The Database Developer will be responsible for the development and administration of database and information systems, troubleshooting technical problems, maintaining system security, and generating reports. The database developer shall apply necessary customizations and new developments on different MIS Systems, including the development of new APIs for integration purposes. The Database Developer shall ensure the smooth running of workflow and daily operations of implemented information systems. The Database Developer shall ensure that the client’s expectations are met and quality services are provided. Having good communication and problem-solving skills are the fundamental requirement.

DUTES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Database and Applications

  • Develop new databases and applications based on requirements and assist in restructuring of existing systems;
  • Maintain and administrate existing information systems;
  • Cooperate in the implementation of new information systems and new deployments.
  • Cooperate in the development of integration tools and APIs between information systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including systems’ setup and configurations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central;
  • Develop required applications using Microsoft SharePoint and Power App platforms;
  • Assist in systems implementation, operations, and maintenance;
  • Assist in code optimization process based on requirements;
  • Monitor and apply off-site backup procedures;

Integrations and Data Analysis

  • Develop required APIs for integrating third-party systems to create seamless dataflow;
  • Provide technical support to all needy destinations and diagnose all technical-related issues;
  • Assist in data analysis, reporting, and dissemination processes;

Training and Reporting

  • Ensure staff remained trained and effective at using the information systems;
  • Document relevant guidelines, manuals, and procedures;
  • Submit periodic (weekly/monthly/ quarterly/ annual) progress reports to the Senior ICT and Systems Manager;
  • Perform other relevant tasks assigned by the Senior ICT and Systems Manager.

Qualification

  • Bachelor in IT, Computer Science, or Software Engineering

Experience

  • Shall have at least 5 Years of relevant experience

Desirable specific/ technical Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience in the design, development, and implementation of complex database/information systems;
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft SharePoint and Power App platforms for the development of applications and required integration tools.
  • Experience in the development of APIs using the latest secure technologies.
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL, including Reporting Services and Integration Services;
  • Functional knowledge of financial systems will be an advantage;
  • Relevant Microsoft Certification would be an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of web programming languages (.NET, ASP.NET CORE, C#);
  • Knowledge and Experience in SharePoint Designer, Power Platform, and REST-APIs.
  • knowledge of CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery using MVC platform;
  • Strong knowledge of Bootstrap and Angular JS;
  • Strong knowledge of Data Analysis and Business Intelligence tools.

Languages Skills:

  • English is the working language in AUAF (spoken, read, and written); Familiarity with Dari and Pashto would be useful.

Computer Skills:

  • Expertise in IT and MIS Systems and Applications.
