We are looking for a strategic and highly motivated professional with experience in designing, producing, delivering, and evaluating learning products to join our team as an Instructional Designer PEC Consultant at the Operations Learning Program (OLP).
As PEC Consultant, you will work designing, producing, delivering, and evaluating learning products, ensuring that they align with the organization’s strategic goals and meet the needs of the target audience. It includes administrative and logistical aspects of the production and delivery of project activities.
You will work in the Operations Learning Program (OLP), part of the Knowledge and Learning Division (KLD/SDI). This team is responsible for ensuring access to relevant and high-quality knowledge and technical learning to support corporate processes and speed up the preparation and execution of the Bank’s operational program. The Inter-American Institute for Economic and Social Development (INDES) is responsible for the learning area within this division. The INDES seeks to strengthen technical capabilities in the Region to address development challenges successfully.
What you’ll do:
As PEC Consultant, you will work designing, producing, delivering, and evaluating learning products, ensuring that they align with the organization’s strategic goals and meet the needs of the target audience. It includes administrative and logistical aspects of the production and delivery of project activities.
You will work in the Operations Learning Program (OLP), part of the Knowledge and Learning Division (KLD/SDI). What you’ll do:
- Support conceptualization, preparation, and implementation of learning programs.
- Support need assessments, gap identification, and prioritization of needs related to knowledge and learning.
- Propose learning objectives for courses and modules.
- Design the modular structure of each course and the type, sequence, and duration of learning resources and activities.
- Propose strategies for each course’s formative and summative assessment, including designing open-response assessments and corresponding rubrics.
- Ensure the pedagogical quality of each of the courses’ training resources and, in general, any instructional materials needed to create a practical learning experience, such as readings, case studies, practical exercises, guidelines, and rubrics.
- Ensure that courses are aligned with Quality Matters (QM) standards (i.e., ensure the alignment of learning objectives, contents, activities, and assessments).
- Propose activities for departments across the organization and monitor the results.
- Coordinate technical and administrative/logistical aspects of the production or delivery of knowledge and learning activities.
- Propose best practices in instructional design and provide innovative approaches to ensure the program’s continuous improvement.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in pedagogy, education, psychology, or related fields. Candidates with a Master, certification in e-learning will be considered positively.
Experience:
- You must have at least two (2) years of experience as an instructional designer. Experience in remote education aimed at public or private sector officials will be considered positively.
Languages:
- Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

The successful candidate will work closely with IFC’s Regional Departments and E&S, Industry, Communications & Outreach, and Legal teams to support regional and project-level CSO engagement, facilitate implementation of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) policy, and manage effective grievance resolution for project-affected communities. Duties and Accountabilities  •  Lead engagement and project support to enhance IFC’s responsiveness to stakeholder concerns, including E&S complaints brought to the IFC’s independent accountability mechanism, the CAO, or received directly by IFC (Direct Complaints), and concerns raised by CSOs. Advise project teams, and IFC clients on complainant engagement and contribute to problem-solving and complaint resolution. Strengthen IFC’s relationship with CSOs, fostering dialogue and building support for IFC’s operations and key institutional priorities. •  Liaise with CAO teams and support regional teams in the timely preparation and implementation of IFC’s responses to CAO cases.
