School/College/Division Description The University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee College of Health Professions & Sciences offers a wide array of health-related academic programs in biomedical sciences, global health, health care administration, nursing, the rehabilitation sciences, and sustainable peacebuilding serving 2300+ students. The faculty and staff in these areas are training our graduates for high-demand careers. Many of our degree programs are nationally recognized and ranked and have achieved the highest accreditation possible. The academic quality of our programs is excellent, and through our outreach and e-Learning programs, we have extended access to our educational resources to distant locations. UWM School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding (MSP), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. UW-Milwaukee offers the BS in Nursing at UWM, UWM at Waukesha and UW-Parkside through a consortial partnership. Students are placed in clinical sites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin in proximity to each campus location.

We are seeking an academic professional for the School of Nursing who is committed to excellence in research and scholarship and in high-quality education. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct an active program of research; teach courses and support university level education; and contribute to the mission of the College through professional, community and university service consistent with rank and area of expertise.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution earned by the start of the appointment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Unrestricted license as RN in Wisconsin or ability to become licensed as RN in Wisconsin.
  • Evidence of a developing or established program of research.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research experience/expertise in one or more of the following areas: maternal and child health; community and global health; scholarship of teaching, acute care, gerontology, quality and safety and/or self-management.
  • Experience/expertise in teaching in one or more of the following areas: mental health; gerontology; community, population, and global health; quantitative or qualitative methods; philosophy of science and inquiry; quality and safety; and/or monitoring, evaluation and learning in complex systems.
Target Salary Range Final salary offers contingent upon skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to the position. There is also a negotiable start-up funds amount.
