ROLE of the POSITION
This position provides administrative and event support to the Education Student Services Center (ESSC) particularly as it relates to field experience and student success, manages officewide administrative functions, and supports in maintaining student success team and Director schedules and calendars. Primary responsibilities include office management duties; working with other administrative assistants and front desk support to ensure that all incoming calls and emails are answered and prioritized; engaging with students visiting the ESSC in need of assistance with field experience or student success-related support; corresponds about and compiles/produces data outcome reports; moderate data manipulation and analysis using spreadsheet programs and other data management tools; document typing and processing, and creation/distribution of any student success-related written materials/outreach; travel and reimbursement arrangements; purchasing and disbursement functions, and record management; completing part-time instructor/supervisor contracts; serving as first point of contact related to field experience and student success initiatives, and; having knowledge of all functions within the ESSC, including creative and strategic problem solving. The position manages field experience/student teaching applications and associated data and observation placements each semester, and maintains the student databases and all student files as they relate to student success, licensure, and career preparation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience in and/or knowledge of excellent customer service skills and practices, strong written and oral communication skills, and data collection/organization/tracking.

SALARY
Grade 27, Step 1, salary $41,634.72. “Step” means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
