PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The UNDP-GEF-Government of Kazakhstan Project “Conservation and Sustainable Management of Key Globally Important Ecosystems for Various Benefits” (hereinafter referred to as the Forest Project).

The Forest project has been implemented in Kazakhstan since 2018. Its strategy is to comprehensively address the issues of conservation and sustainable use of forest ecosystems in Kazakhstan by improving management approaches both within the system of protected areas and in adjacent landscapes in order to sustainably use forests of high conservation value.

The project has three main components: the first is aimed at expanding the network of protected areas and improving the efficiency of their management; the second on the effective regulation and management of globally important ecosystems on the basis of landscape planning, the third on international cooperation and knowledge management. The project also aims to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. It has a gender marker – GEN2.

Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.

Any request for clarification must be sent in writing via messaging functionality in the portal. UNDP will respond in writing including an explanation of the query without identifying the source of inquiry.

Please indicate whether you intend to submit a bid by creating a draft response without submitting directly in the system. This will enable the system to send notifications in case of amendments of the tender requirements. ОПИСАНИЕ ПРОЕКТА

Проект Правительства РК-ГЭФ-ПРООН «Сохранение и устойчивое управление ключевыми глобально значимыми экосистемами для получения различных выгод» (далее – Лесной проект).

Лесной проект реализуется в Казахстане с 2018 года. Его стратегия заключается в комплексном решении вопросов сохранения и устойчивого использования лесных экосистем в Казахстане путем улучшения управленческих подходов как внутри системы ООПТ, так и на прилегающих ландшафтах с целью устойчивого использования лесов высокой природоохранной ценности.

Проект включает три основных компонента: первый направлен на расширение сети ООПТ и повышение эффективности их управления; второй на эффективное регулирование и управление глобально значимыми экосистемам на основе ландшафтного планирования, третий на международное сотрудничество и управление знаниями. Проект также направлен на поощрение гендерного равенства и расширения прав и возможностей женщин. Имеет гендерный маркер – GEN2.
