UNDP works in some 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. We help countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and build resilience in order to sustain development results.
Inclusive growth, better services, environmental sustainability, good governance, and security are fundamental to development progress. We offer our expertise in development thinking and practice, and our decades of experience at country level, to support countries to meet their development aspirations and to bring the voices of the world’s peoples into deliberations.
UNDP is working to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), or Global Goals, as they help shape global sustainable development for the next 15 years.
UNDP has been working in Kuwait since 1962 cooperating with the Government and civil society to realize the country’s aspirations for sustainable human development. In view of Kuwait’s high human development status, UNDP programming is fully-funded by the state of Kuwait. Programming is designed to support the state of Kuwait to meet its national developmental priorities. Together with the aims of the UN Charter, these national priorities form the basis of all UNDP programming in Kuwait. UNDP partners with all Kuwaiti stakeholders to build national capacity to develop a more efficient public sector, support women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability and private sector development. Our national implementing partner is the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (SCPD).
As part of its communication strategy, UNDP Kuwait aims to document its activities and results through high-quality video content that effectively communicates its impact to a wide range of audiences, including the public, government stakeholders, and international partners.
