Clinical Financial Counselor

The College of Dentistry Business Office is seeking a Clinical Financial Counselor to provide support with the billing, collections, and system reconciliation/resolution of patient accounts with balances due.

• Run axiUm insurance aging reports to follow up on insurance claims not paid/still outstanding over 90 days.  Identify the reason for nonpayment by contacting insurance company, make the necessary corrections and refile claim as needed.
• Run axiUm reports to identify insurance claims denied by insurance/third party payors.  Determine denial reason, correct the reason for the denial and refile claim to insurance.
• Serves as backup for posting dental claims on carrier portals for DMD, Oral Surgery and satellite clinics.

Incumbent will be scheduled for 32 hours per week.  

$15.00 per hour

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience and/or training, including customer service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with Microsoft Office.  Collections and cash handling experience.  Insurance claims (CMS 1500) submission and follow-up experience.  Dental office experience helpful.
