Greenwich Research and Innovation (GRI) is the University’s central unit providing high quality support to the academic community to assist in the delivery of the ambitious Research and Knowledge Exchange (R&KE) sub-strategy within the University’s Strategy 2030 .  GRI is structured to support all aspects of the project cycle from identifying relevant funding opportunities right through to maximising the impact from the University’s activities.

The Scholarly Communications Manager role sits within our Funding Support and Information Services Team.  The support this team provides ranges from specialist advice during the project application process right through the project cycle and the preparation for key framework assessments, including REF and KEF.

The postholder will lead the development of library services as they relate to research outputs and research data management in order to meet the needs of the University’s R&KE community, external research funders, and the requirements of the Research Excellence Framework. This will involve overseeing the ongoing development of the Institutional Repository (this is currently GALA (Greenwich Academic Literature Archive)) – ensuring its effective use alongside other research management systems, the development and implementation of a Research Data Management Policy.

The post-holder will provide support and advise to senior managers, research groups leads and other leading academics in the planning, development and implementation of R&KE data management practices that address the data lifecycle needs of researchers, through an effective operation strategy that efficiently collects, stores, and preserves the university’s R&KE data outputs.
