Data Management Analyst I

Job Description:

The Data Management Analyst will be working with data from county property appraisers, the Florida Department of Revenue, US Census Bureau, water utility providers and other various sources to facilitate research and extension activities. This position will focus on data standardization to drive web-based tools and enable replicable research.

•           Data collection of tabular and spatial data  
•           Data processing of tabular and spatial data  
•           Automation of data processing procedures 
•           Data analysis 
•           Writing reports and developing presentation materials 
•           Performing other duties as required 

SUPERVISION

The Data Management Analyst will work as part of a team with colleagues and the immediate supervisor. The Data Management Analyst will be given direction as needed and will report weekly or as necessary. This position will have no supervisory responsibilities.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

The work schedule for this position is a typical work week, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. Travel may be required periodically.

COMMUNICATION

The Data Management Analyst will communicate with extension clientele on a regular basis by phone, email, and in virtual and in-person meetings.

 

 

 

 

 

Expected Salary:

$45,600-$65,000 Commensurate with Experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area.

Preferred Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelors degree in an appropriate area or two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with property appraisal and utility data.
Understanding of water supply issues in Florida
Understanding of the process, pace and practices of land development in Florida, and how these new developments impact water use.
SKILLS:
Knowledge of basic principles and techniques of manipulating tabular and spatial data.
Working knowledge/experience scripted data processes.
Working knowledge/experience using SQL, javascript, python and other coding language
Strategic planning
Capable of high attention to detail
Comfortable with public speaking
ABILITIES:
Able to work independently as a self-starter
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing (required)
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
