Founded in 1979, Action contre la Faim is an international non-governmental organization fighting hunger worldwide. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has underpinned its identity for over 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergency situations linked to conflicts and natural disasters. Action contre la Faim coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Security and Livelihoods – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Mission :
Your main responsability will be to coordinate Action contre la Faim intervention in Daykundi province.
More precisely, you will:
Contribute to Action contre la Faim country strategy development and implementation.
Coordinate overall implementation of programs at field level, identify opportunies for applications, facilitate the development of new projects.
Manage the team at field level: ensure that all programs and development have adequate plannings, recruiting your team, organize base meetings, monitor the social climate, manage overall the training needs.
Facilitate good relationships with the coordination team by updating them on program implementation, ensuring field teams proactively express relevant demands for support to the coordination team.
Monitore the security environment, maintaining an effective network on contextual and security matters, organize security and context briefings, managing security incidents.
Profile :
You have a Master’s degree (or a Bachelor’s degree with a strong experience) in international relations, development studies or related technical discipline relevant for Action contre la Faim programs.
You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position, in INGOs. A previous experience in an insecure setting is an advantage.
You have an experience in successful proposal development.
You have excellent management skills (HR, projects, stress management).
You have an advanced knowledge of donors’ guidelines and procedures (ECHO, UNICEF, DFID, OFDA, etc.).
You have a demonstrated ability to organize, train and motivate a multicultural team.
You are fluent in English.
Conditions d’emploi
Fixed term contract under French legislation (for international candidates) or Afghan law (for national candidates): 12 months.
Remuneration according to Action contre la Faim’s policy.
