Summary of Job Duties:

The Student Success Center Academic Support Graduate Assistant for the Tutoring Program conducts program-related research including data collection, analysis, and reporting to assist with the development of system improvements and helps with the preparation, coding, and analysis of semester surveys. The GA supports the program coordinator with daily program operation and supervision of student employees, developing and delivering content for training and classroom presentations, and facilitating the observation of student employees working in the program to provide feedback periodically. Additional projects may be assigned as needed.
This position begins on 5/13/2024 and is a 12-month appointment. 12-month graduate assistants must enroll in at least three credit hours during the summer.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Enrollment in a University of Arkansas graduate (Master’s, Integrated Master’s, or PhD) program of study  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • At least one semester’s experience teaching or working in an academic support setting such as tutoring services, a supplemental instruction program, peer academic coaching, and/or writing instruction

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and present findings to multiple stakeholders 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): 

  • Knowledge of academic support programs such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, peer academic coaching, and/or writing instruction  

  • Skilled in interpersonal communication   

  • Skilled in time management and organization 

  • Skilled in Excel, Blackboard, Zoom, Office 365 (OneDrive, Forms, Teams)   

  • Must be available to work during regular business hours, some evenings and weekends

  • Ability to work effectively in teams and independently with limited supervision 

  • Ability to problem solve and think critically  

Additional Information:

Salary Information:

$17,000 for Master’s students, $19,096 for MFA/Doctoral students
