JOB CONTEXT:
HI is an expert on Disability inclusion, on which Accessibility is a key pillar. HI has already one global specialist (at HQ) and field specialists in this sector. So, this position is opened to reinforce the Accessibility team, in their objective to support HI projects, internal practices and external actors and policies to be more accessible, in their build and communication environment. The opening of this position is part of the development of our Inclusion Technical Assistance (ITA) activities, which are in line with one of our strategic development priorities, which is to be a leader in the inclusion of people with disabilities, through the development of technical assistance. This position is planned to be a permanent position at the end of this contract, linked to the development in this sector (ITA and HI project’s needs).
YOUR MISSION:
In pair with the actual global Accessibility Specialist and in collaboration with the ITA team and other HI technical sectors. This position will be responsible for promoting, developing and implementing ITA in its sector, as well as supporting HI programs and projects staffs in implementing the Accessibility sector strategy.
The objectives of the position are :
– Co-define and consolidate ITA service offers and their implementation tools for building and communication accessibility – and support its promotion/sale, in collaboration with the ITA business developer.
– Participate in the writing of technical proposals and carry out Accessibility ITAs/ consultancies for external clients according to requests and skills required (on site or remotely, depending on the context)
– Support the design and qualitative follow-up of internal HI projects integrating Accessibility activities.
– Monitor and strengthen the internal skills of technical staff on Accessibility issues, in particular with the others sectorial global specialists (at HQ), THOPs (Technical Heads of Program) and Accessibility specialists in the field.
– Represent HI externally at international events (conferences, seminars, webinars, meetings, etc.), and ensure external networking to enrich the pool of experts, partners, potential collaborators or customers for HI and ATI internal projects.
WORK CONDITION / ACCESSIBILITY OF THE WORKPLACES:
In Lyon, the offices are easily accessible by public transport (bus, metro). Car and bicycle parking are also available. Within the building, access ramps and elevators ensure easy circulation. All workstations are located in Open Space, but cubicles are available on each floor for quiet working if required. The workspace is very bright.
In all location, most of the activities are done through emails communication and TEAMS online meetings.This position could require 2 to 3 international missions, depending on the need / request.

YOUR PROFILE:
– Proven experience in making spaces buildings accessible for persons with disability (2 years or more)
– You have a degree in architecture, urbanism or social development
– You have experience as a consultant
– You have skills on trainings and coaching
– You are recognized for your ability to analyze and think strategically;
– You’re autonomous in your mission but like and know how to work in team, to co-construct
– You enjoy developing your professional network and promoting your organization and sector
– Perfect command of English (read, spoken and written) and able to work in French
– Experience in the international cooperation context (international policies/actors/donors/development and emergency contexts…) would be a significative added value
– Personal experience of “peer to peer” approach on Acessibility would be appreciated
