Peace and Freedom Organization, a non-governmental, non-profit organization, administratively and financially independent, Established in 2013 and registered with the concerned authorities in the Department of NGOs. Head office in Erbil and works in multiple areas in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Working in the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, to monitor and protect the human rights situations and ensure peaceful coexistence by promoting trust and cooperation among the various components of society.

VISION

 A peaceful, democratic and diverse society that guarantees human rights and fundamental freedoms for all. Promotes social justice, citizenship and non-violent values. And rejects extremism in all its forms.

 The organization’s goals

Spread the culture of peace building, conflict resolution and non-violence ethics.
Promoting freedoms and human rights.
Protect diversity and promote citizenship.
Promote peaceful coexistence and values ​​of tolerance.
Building youth capacities and promoting voluntary work in society.

Organization’s Programs: The PFO has identified three main program areas where it will focus its work over the next four years:

PROGRAM I: PEACEBUILDING AND SOCIAL COHERENCE The Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion Program aim to preserve the diversity of the presence in Iraq, by building the capacity of individuals and key stakeholders, to resolve conflict and promote peace, also to ensure peaceful coexistence among communities with diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds, and to ensure appropriate policies for guaranteeing protection and participation of all groups in the society.

 PROGRAM II: HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS The objective of the rights and freedoms Program is to promote human rights, highlight violations of individual and collective rights and freedoms throughout Iraq. Also ensuring that appropriate government policies are in place to protect and promote these rights and freedoms.

PROGRAM III: TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE PROGRAM This Program aims to contribute to the dignity of individuals, recognition of violations, justice for victims and making efforts to prevent violations. In all programs there are projects which include the participation of (genders, youth, minorities), and represent according to the principle (transparency).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Establish, organize, and maintain current project files per department filing system for all projects you are assigned. 
  • Obtain copy of Owner’s contract for each project and familiarize him/her with financial aspects of the contract.
  • Input appropriate budget information into Timberline and Prolog using the cost code structure and phases in accordance with the budget set-up sheet provided by Estimator or Project Manager.
  • Review and verify the commitments, subcontractor change orders and general conditions cost between Timberline and Prolog to ensure bridge software accuracy.
  • Verify the accuracy of the previously billed and paid figures on the Subcontractor’s Application for Payment.
  • Submit invoices to Project Manager on the project specific date for approval.
  • Follow up with Project Manager to ensure information is returned in a timely manner.
  • Upon approval, scan invoices and enter into Timberline and generate Owner billing based on cost incurred for Project Manager’s review and approval.
  • Each Owner invoice is prepared in accordance with Owner contract requirements.
  • Enter necessary direct cost entries and misc. worksheet entries in Timberline as incurred by the project.
  •  Work with each Project Manager as needed to ensure timely Owner billing and payments.
  • Obtain Project Manager’s approval for subcontractor payments once the Owner payment is made.
  • Ensure timely payment to subcontractors and vendors after approval is received and all paperwork has been submitted.
  • Obtain renewal insurance certificates from subcontractors prior to each payment when expired.
  • Follow all corporate policies and report any inconsistencies.
  • Perform departmental responsibilities such as bank reconciliations, processing of company invoices for project cost such.
  • Maintain any project specific programs as required.
  • Provide any supplemental reports/documentation as may be required by Owner.
  • Verify all figures on the Project Status Report and complete Project Accounting section on a monthly basis.
  • Full working knowledge of budget, contingency.
