Are you an experienced Accountant seeking a rewarding opportunity? Uniting, a leading not for profit organisation committed to positive change, is hiring for a 12-month full-time fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the GL & Reporting team, you’ll play a crucial role in the Independent Living business stream, ensuring accurate and timely Financial Statements. Responsibilities include:
Financial Management:
- Prepare month-end accounts for timely closure by the 4th working day.
- Complete all balance sheet reconciliations within 5 days after month-end close.
- Lead the external audit process for Independent Living Units, including the preparation of audit schedules.
Operational Processes:
- Document and apply accounting procedures, continuously improving general ledger processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for budgeting, variance analysis, and strategic planning.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Finance/Accounting.
- CPA/CA qualification.
- Post-graduate qualifications (e.g., Information Systems, Business Administration, Masters in Finance/Accounting) desirable.
Skills:
- Excellent skills in accounting software, Microsoft Office Apps, and analytical tools.
- Strong research and analytical skills for compliance matters and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of Microsoft D365 preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Finance role.
- Strong knowledge of aged care and family services sectors.
- Experience with ERP systems in large-scale service environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
