| Posting Text | The Northern State University department of Finance and Administration is looking for an energetic individual to join our Finance team. Successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and possess strong attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills to support daily interactions with the campus community. Finance and Administration provides purchasing and accounting services to all campus departments, providing a variety of daily tasks as well as the opportunity to become engaged in campus activities. Job Responsibilities: Monitor cash on hand, balance daily, prepare bank deposits Collect money and issue receipts with proper account coding Assist students with questions regarding their student accounts and making payments Audit and enter vouchers into state accounting system Coordinate athletic and fine arts department ticket sales Various accounting functions working with accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciling accounts, maintaining good internal controls Knowledge: • Basic accounting and recordkeeping • Ability to work with automated financial information systems • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Outlook, and Word • Data analysis Skills & Abilities: • Strong attention to detail • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Motivated to grow and learn new skills • Understand and apply appropriate policies and procedures • Work with a variety of individuals, on-campus and off-campus • Problem solving Preferred Qualifications: • Associates degree in accounting or equivalent business or accounting experience • Proven ability to work effectively with other people |
